Timboon Fine Ice Cream has been making ice cream at Timboon for 8 years.
The owners Tim Marwood and Caroline Simmons had been looking for a site
in Timboon to set up ‘factory door’ sales locally.
The old Goods shed at the railhead in town appealed as a great opportunity
to renovate; run down and unused, the site is central but retains the original character.
Eager to attract visitors all year round and not just at summer for ice cream indulging, Tim and Caroline
investigated the history of illicit distilling in the area and determined to include a small distillery, adding value to the visitor experience.
The building has been remodelled to reveal a modern interior sympathetic to the original structure of the shed. The original doors, roof trusses and frame remain with the addition of an open fire to keep warm in winter.
