Enjoy 34 kilometres of natural trail ideal for walking, bike and horse riding.

Framed in turn by open grassland and tree ferns, you will enjoy scenic views and hushed remnant forest, heathland with an abundance of native flora and fauna.



On the trail you will enjoy native species like Gum trees, blackwoods, woolly tea trees, messmates, tree ferns and cherry ballart.
While native wildlife includes koalas, kangaroos, native birds and sugar glider possums and habitat for the Powerful Owl.


A generous donation by mining company BHP has meant that new trail restoration works are being completed to consolidate the entire Timboon to Camperdown Rail Trail.

Some sections of the trail are currently hazardous and under construction. For complete safety and enjoyment, users of the trail are encouraged to begin exploring at the end of the year when all works are completed.

Individuals and groups alike are encouraged to take advantage of this beautiful walking track that is both scenic and educational.

The first section which is an easy flat 3km walk begins at the Railshed Distillery and ends at the National Trust listed Trestle Bridge.
